SIMS - Computerized Data Acquisition & Reporting System - SIMS is a new advanced state-of-the-art data acquisition and review system which allows capture, immediate review, edit, back-up and reporting of subsea inspection & operational data with reduced intrusion into the actual inspection activity.

SIMS is designed primarily as a tool for the offshore Data Recorder and the onshore/offshore Inspection Coordinator/Engineer, which helps them to do their business more efficiently, and which helps reduce in-water inspection hours. SIMS is also designed to allow an on-line Data Recorder to perform on-the-fly, off-line data review and edit, as operational/inspection lulls permit. This reduces the need for full time off-line data review resources offshore.

SIMS has a number of innovative features not available in other systems (patents currently pending) including the ability to view approaching features and to log new data & dimensions on a dynamic, scaled-pipeline-grid display.
